Embossed, tapered, cone-shaped bolo tie tips are a great way to add style and fine detail to your unique bolo tie. Just add a drop of glue in each bolo tip to ensure a strong hold, then insert the ends of your bolo cord and using a pair of pliers, bend each tab inward towards the cord. Each bolo tie tip measures approximately 2 1/8 inch long by 1/4 inch wide at opening. Best for 4mm to 6mm cords. Seamed back.General Information:
Making a bolo tie (cowboy or western tie) is much easier than you would think. All you need is a cord, a slide clasp, and bolo tie tips.Your slide is the focal point of your western tie and can be anything you want. If you have a favorite piece of stone, coin, old cuff link, medallion, belt buckle or other piece of jewelry you can attach it to a bolo tie slide blank for your own personalized cowboy tie. However, if you prefer, there are lots of ready made, already decorated slides that you can purchase to make your custom bolo tie with.
Your bolo tie tips are the secondary focal point and you will want to choose a set that best fits your western tie in both style and needs. If your cord is light weight and tends to have kinks in it then you might want a heavier bolo tie tip to keep it hanging straight. If you use a leather bolo cord then weight is not usually as much of a factor. Pay attention to the size of hole on the tips that you are considering, to be sure that your cord will fit into the hole. Some heavier tips may have threads inside the hole while others are smooth inside. Even with a threaded hole you should use a strong glue (like E-6000) to hold your tips into place.
