On spools. Perfect for bead weaving and bead stringing projects. Strong, 3-ply, approx .5mm thick x 20 yards.General Information:
Choosing the right thread is often difficult with all the different choices out there. The following information might help when considering your stringing material.
- Nylon:
Nylon is a synthetic fiber that is good thread for pearls, and soft material beads. Nylon thread knots consistently and evenly and is less likely to fray from sharp bead edges but may stretch just a little. If stretching might be a problem for your project then you might want to tie a weight to the end of your thread and allow it to stretch out before stringing.- Silk:
Silk threads are a well known classic and often used for pearls. It is a higher quality thread but is best used for smooth beads because it will fray if you have a bead with a sharp edge.- Monofilament:
Monofilament thread is usually a clear color but can be colored. It is actually the same stuff for fishing. Monofilament thread is durable but will stretch a little and probably not the thread you want to use if your beads have sharp edges because the thread may cut over time.- Nymo:
Nymo threads are a lightly waxed nylon thread that is very strong and comes in a variety of colors. Waxed threads can be helpful in your jewelry projects because your thread is a little stiffer and easy to control. This thread type is often used with seed beads, pearls and loom bead weaving projects- Stretch Magic:
This is a stretchy, clear cord that is perfect for making jewelry pieces that do not have a clasp, such as bracelets.- Tiger Tail:
This thread is a coated wire cable and is a bit stiff. It is good for when strength is needed, such as when using heavy beads or beads with rough edges.
